• January 27, 2008 -- O4E Wiki is launched! This ended several-month efforts to create a XWiki-based virtual wiki and transfer all content from the Ontologies for Education (O4E) Portal.
• January 05, 2008 -- Freshmen Adam Williams, Darrian Cunningham and Gregory Goddard joined the IIS Research Group. Welcome!
• November 21, 2007 -- Dr. Lars Johnsen presented a talk "Onto-Rhetorical Topic Maps: A Framework for Integrating Learning Content" on the CS Research seminar.
• November 19-25, 2007 -- Dr. Lars Johnsen from the Department of Business Communication and Information Science University of Southern Denmark, visited the IIS Group to discuss possible research collaboration. He uses TM4L in his classes.
• November 12, 2007 -- Darina Dicheva presented a paper on the Workshop on Cultural Heritage on the Semantic Web, 6th Intl. Semantic Web Conference, ISWC 2007, November 11-15, 2007, Busan, Korea.
• October 10, 2007 -- A new version of the TM4L software has been released. It had 487 downloads in the first week!
• October 4-7, 2007 -- Tim Campbell and Jerry Akouala presented at the 2007 HBCU-UP National Research Conference, Washington, DC, Greensboro, NC

• March 18, 2007 -- Jeff Heflin of Lehigh University presents a keynote talk on the Scalability of the Semantic Web at ACMSE'07
• March 18, 2007 -- Christo Dichev presented a tutorial on Creating Ontology-driven Repositories based on Topic Maps at ACMSE'07.
• March 18-19, 2007 -- Strong participation of the IIS Group in ACMSE'07: 2 regular papers, 1 student paper, 1 poster paper, and 1 tutorial. Well done!
• March 18-19, 2007 -- Darina Dicheva is a Program Committee Co-Chair of the 45th Southeast ACM Conference co-organized by Wake Forest University and WSSU.
• February , 2007 -- Darina Dicheva & Christo Dichev have a paper accepted for the 13th Int. AI-ED 2007 conference, July 9-13, 2007, LA, California.
• December 10, 2006 -- Christo Dichev and Darina Dicheva to present a paper at the Web Intelligence'06 conference, Hong Kong (acceptance rate 18%)
• November 05, 2006 -- Christo Dichev and Darina Dicheva will present on the Int. Semantic Web User Interaction Workshop at ISWC 2006, Athens, Georgia. At the same workshop Tim Berners Lee announced the Semantic Web browser Tabulator.
• May 15, 2006 -- Welcome to Jerry Akouala, Cristan Brown, and Joseph Barnett - our summer research interns! They are supported by a grant we received from the UNC GA Undergraduate Research Opportunity Expansion Initiative.
• May 4th 2006 -- Dandan Wang is the first recipient of the WSSU Graduate Student of the Year Award. 
• Darina Dicheva invited as a Specialist Reviewer for the Intl. Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education (IJAIED)
• Jerry Akouala won 2nd place for his poster at NCLSAMP 2006.
